This week Games in Asia dove headfirst into the fall triple-A release season with reviews of Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed IV, both of which came out on Tuesday. What it is: A swashbuckling pirate yarn held back only by its ties to the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Thor: The Dark World

What it is: Thor: The Dark World is a movie opening this November 8th, but it’s also a mobile game developed by Gameloft that’s not bad and just went free.
Hometown Story
Score: 5.5
Genre: Life sim
Platform: Nintendo 3DS
What it is: A life sim missing out on a whole lot of life.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies
Score: 9.3
Genre: Adventure/visual novel
Platform: Nintendo 3DS
What it is: The latest Ace Attorney game brings lots of head scratching and witty dialogue to the table.
Juice Cubes
Score: 7.5
Genre: Puzzle
Platform: iOS, Android
What it is: Rovio’s Candy Crush clone with a twist.
Elevator Joe
Score: 7
Genre: Time management
Platform: iOS, Android
What it is: It’s about bringing passengers to their respective desired floors in the fastest and most efficient way while being distracted by dinosaurs, aliens, VIPs, and a pesky relative.
Infectonator 2
Score: 7.7
Genre: Strategy (sort of)
Platform: Browser
What it is: A fun game where the player helps zombies take over cities of the world.
